Blue (I ♥ faces)

I went through some older pictures to find one that had a lot of “blue” for the http://www.iheartfaces.com contest this week … and found this one.  I had originally thought I’d put up one of my infamous “blue-eyed” baby pictures, but this one cracks me up– and has a lot of blue!  ENJOY:530-2

These eyes….

There is something about this picture that I just love… I only took a few photos of this little girl at her parents’ BBQ— and she wasn’t sure who I was, so her look is so innocent to me.  ENJOY:

Flowergirl and ring bearer… but no bride!

If you have followed my blog for very long, you will recognize these angels.  I’ve photographed them many, many times and their mom has been one of my biggest supporters and friend since the start of this whole photography adventure!   Well, these two darlings were in a wedding this summer, but they didn’t get any pictures of them all dolled up that they were in love with… so she asked me if I could have a mini-session  in their cute wedding attire… and how could I possibly say no to that?  They looked ADORABLE… and despite the fact that little Makena really wanted nothing to do with my camera this time (maybe my new brown hair was throwing her off?)… I managed to get some great shots in a very small amount of time!

Silly, silly sisters! (I heart faces post below)

And… such sweetie pies, too!  I just love their curly locks and beautiful eyes!  We had a lot of fun… jumped off of rocks, looked for frogs, tossed sticks in the pond– and took lots of fun pictures!!   We ended the session with a game of “Camera-tag”– but I’m still not sure of what the rules were.  All I know is that there was lots of running from my camera, screaming and laughing– so I guess I was playing it right!  ENJOY:

I ♥ faces….

I have been checking out this cool photography blog for a long time (called I heart faces http://www.iheartfaces.blogspot.com/ -basically a blog of pictures of people– love it!) and they have contests all the time (for professional and non-professional)… When I read that this week was “CANDID”, I immediately thought of this picture… I think I posted it back in June… but it is of one of my nieces who was very upset with her mother for telling her she had to wear her headband for the photo session…. She didn’t know I was there, so when I called her name, this is what I got.  Love her.

New York, New York…

I am going to be in New York for some photo sessions and have two time slots still available.  Please email me if you are interested (betsy@betsymariephotography.com).

October 1st & 2nd (Thursday & Friday).

Thanks!  More pictures later tonight!

Sleepy newborn??

I think NOT!!!  This little guy was simply delicious… but… not the least bit sleepy!!!  It was the kiss of death when I met his Mama and she immediately said, “This boy sleeps all day long… so we shouldn’t have any issues.”  HA!  Later, she said, “Wow… I’ve never seen his eyes open like this…” and “Boy.. he’s never been awake for this long before.”  Love it!!

Fortunately, we lulled him to sleep a few times and got some awake shots that show off his beautiful eyes.  This little lad has THREE older sisters (who were all at pre-school during our session)… so I hope to get to meet them someday!  Good luck little Charlie… I think you are going to need it!  Great meeting you, Piper!  You have a beautiful family!  ENJOY (especially all the BLUE!):

Drew & Avery…

These two were so much fun!  Drew is THE sweetest older brother I have ever met…. and Avery is a doll.  She was not so sure about me at first… but I grew on her when we started singing some of her favorite songs!  She has the best hair- curly and red- and I love her spunk!  I know she is already a handful for you, Mama!  :)  And I can so relate!!  It was great catching up with their Mommy who I have not seen in YEARS…. Enjoy your preview and we’ll be in touch soon!

Blog neglect… and a few of Little Logie!

Hello!

I’m sorry I have neglected the blog for so long— but returning from a three week vacation, unpacking and then leaving town again for an adults-only weekend of U2 concerts and Cubs games (fun fun) has really put me BEHIND!  So… thank you to everyone for being patient and waiting for their promised previews on my blog… here they go.  One a day until they are done!!

Little Logie… such a cute and serious little guy!  He really wanted no part in my camera adventure, until I promised him a sucker (didn’t have any of my fancy lollipops on hand, but the tootsie-roll pop seemed to please him JUST fine!)… He is going to be a big-brother and isn’t so sure he likes that title yet… but I know he’ll be a great one in time!  Hope to see you soon (his Mama is one of my dearest and oldest friends— well, she is MUCH older, but that’s not what I mean– hee hee– she’s really only 18 days older).  I hope I get to meet baby K before he is too old (tell your dad to fly me up there to take pictures this winter– good baby gift idea!)  :)

ENJOY:
