3 sweet girls…

I mean, REALLY?  Could these three be any sweeter.  Just love them.  Some of you might remember them from last year– all dressed up in their “fairy” costumes (and baby Livi being a newborn baby!)… well, now their mom describes their style as “Punky Brewster”, but I just love how they look how they do everyday– makes the pictures less posed, and more real to me!  (click here to see a picture of Livi as a newborn from last year http://www.betsymariephotography.com/blog/archives/358.

Little Livi just turned one– and her oldest sister (Delainey) just turned 5 yesterday!!  Lauren (middle girl) is two days older than my twins.  So fun!!

Summer? Or is it Fall?

We are winding down our SUMMER vacation in Michigan (almost one month here!)– but it feels more like Autumn!  Fall is my favorite season for many reasons, but not when it is supposed to be 85 and sunny for my twins to swim in the lake!  Since it has been cool, we headed to an orchard to try to pick some fruit.  The apples are not ready and the peaches are already over… so, we took pictures instead!  We also found a cool train museum, and I got some of my new favorite pictures of Ryan on the track… ENJOY!

a-5a-6a-7Since the train ride was not in service for another hour, my sister improvised by making a little choo-choo of her own!a-8a-2a-3a-4

Remember the “white bikini”?

Well, now it is blue… but equally as cute!

I am sure many of you will remember this first image…. it was one of my first maternity clients… and it took a lot of convincing of future pregnant mamas that I did not make her wear the white bikini– it was her own– and despite the fact that she looked AMAZING in it, I didn’t require it of anyone else!

Anyway…. her little baby just turned ONE– and look who is going to be a big brother (to a little sister in November)… Last time I photographed her we were on the beach in Florida and this time we were on the beach in Northern Michigan.  The beach is her favorite place to be (and mine), so it is only fitting that her sessions be there!

Little Owen was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!!  His eyes… his lips… his demeanor.  I wanted to eat him up.  Suzy– it was great seeing you again and meeting little Owen!  We had such a great time!!!!!

This is from just over a year ago… Noticed how relaxed and peaceful she is :)

Sunflowers….

Driving from one town to another in Northern Michigan, we spotted these sunflowers down a country road.  After finding a path to them, we dragged the kids from the car and walked about a mile to get there, but it was worth it…. It was HIGH noon– as in 12:01 when we arrived (so not ideal lighting situation), but I could not pass them by without stopping… so here are my two country-bumpkins enjoying the flowers (and bees, and mosquitos, and possibly poison ivy!)  :)  As you’ll see… one of my “models” was avoiding the camera at all costs… but luckily Ry humored me!

“Up North”

It just might be my favorite place on earth… possibly second only to Paris or the south of France.  If you have never been to Northern Michigan, you might not understand what I’m talking about… but once you go, you’ll know.

My mom and I took E&R up there for four nights and had a fantastic time!!  I’ll only do two posts, but I could probably do about 100 with how many pictures I took!

ENJOY:

Straight from the beach, changed in the car… pizza and then ice cream!

Just a few….

We’ve only been in Michigan for a few days… so I’ve been trying to give the kids a break from my camera– but that is about to end since we are going “up north” on Monday– which is one of my favorite places on earth.  I’ll post some pictures from that adventure when I get back… but for now, they are enjoying every second on the lake and swimming up a storm.  Here is their first attempt at fishing— trying to catch the “tickle fishies” (i.e. minnows who last year freaked them out when they nibbled on their toes, so this year I told them they were tickling them… it seemed to work!)

ENJOY:ella-12On a ride at the county fair… hilarious!ella-2And one of Ry holding a baby chick…. and two seconds later, Ella grabbed it by the neck and handed it back to the farmer.  I hope he is ok.  :(

BIG, happy family session…

These seven children are all cousins… and they are my cousins’ kids!  (So the lady on the left is my aunt and to the right is Uncle Bob!)  They all came for a visit and a quick mini-session with all the kids before we had some fun time in the lake and on the boat.  They are all adorable and so much fun to be around!  I was looking for some older kids to photograph– so now I’ve had a taste of how much fun it can be!  :) cheryl-4cheryl-3cheryl-2cheryl-6cheryl-7cheryl-5And one of my new favorites…. look for one of my own children doing this in the next few days!  :)

And so much hair!!!  This little guy was simply adorable.  He has an older sister who is going to take such good care of him.  This session was so quick– had another sleepy newborn!!  ENJOY!mateo-7mateo-6mateo-4mateo-3mateo-1mateo-2

The happiest baby on the block….

LITERALLY.  And… she almost lives on my block.  :)  This little girl has been all smiles since her newborn session in December…. and I can’t get enough of her dimples and little giggles.  She’s getting so big, so fast– and her Mommy wanted some pictures to document this cute phase she is in.  I think we got just what we wanted.  Big sis, Reese, was not planning on getting in any shots, but when their mom went in to get something, I plopped them down together and took a few of them!  So cute.

Another Storyboard… and I’m going on vacation!

Hello!  I had to show you all this beautiful storyboard I just made for my best friend.  You’ve seen most of these pictures before if you follow my blog– but how amazing do they look all together!?  I ordered it in 30×30 for her– and got it in the mail yesterday.  It is INCREDIBLE!  I’m putting together one for my husband for his office right now.  It’s a great way to show off a ton of pictures, but not worry about how to frame them all on your wall.  One frame, no glass needed– and you’re done.  Love it.

Also, I am going to be on vacation for the rest of the month starting on Tuesday.  I will return emails and phone calls, but probably not as promptly.  If you are in the process of ordering your prints, don’t worry because I’ll be taking all of my files with me.  If you are waiting for prints to be delivered, I have one more shipment coming on Monday or Tuesday and I’ll get those all out before I leave.

Thanks and Enjoy!!!
