They are two & four… and TOO cute!

These boys wore me out— we had races, we played “Star Wars”, we rode their scooters, explored some closed-down train tracks… and had FUN!  I know the four year old was dreading it, but I think I converted him into thinking photo sessions are fun!  I know both of these boys well (which usually makes it harder), but they were great!  I think we got exactly what their Mommy wanted– the boys being boys!

Little Trinity….

This little beauty is visiting from Nevada for her auntie’s wedding (which I am also photographing….yes, I said no more weddings, but she is a cousin!)… She is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E…. bright blue eyes, dark curly hair– and loves to make fish faces…. tooooooo cute.  We had a short little session in the blazing heat… but got some keepers from it anyway!

Soon to be three… and soon to be a big sister!

This little red-headed beauty and I had a wonderful two hour playdate…. Mommy and Grandma sat on a bench while she and I galavanted around the park.  So much fun… and SO many great photos.  Little Miss “S” will turn three right after her new sister is born, so we got this photo session done just in time…. and you’ll see more of her holding her new sister VERY soon because her Mommy is having the baby on Monday!   Congrats to the beautiful family!

Twins and their au pair!

The amazing parents of these twins gave their “au pair” a photo shoot as her birthday present.  She wanted some wonderful pictures of these adorable boys to take home with her at the end of the summer.  How sweet is that?   What I love about this photo session is that she let the boys pick out what they were going to wear (they are almost 4) because she wants to remember them as they are…. love it.  You might remember these two from Christmas-time… when they wore their Ed Hardy t-shirts for their Christmas cards… love that too!  And here they are… in their cute little 4-year-old-picked-me-out outfits.

And baby makes FIVE….

Having three kids takes a lot of hard work– but if anyone can do it with grace it is this family!  The oldest child (who should for sure be modeling), was born the very day that my husband and I drove away from Chicago over 5 years ago.  Her mom is one of my best friends, and I went through her whole pregnancy with her… and then she went and had the baby as we were driving south.  Meanie.  :)  She actually knew she was in labor as we were leaving, but didn’t tell me so I wouldn’t feel torn to stay.  We met at the dog park when our children were our dogs…. and became fast friends.  FORTUNATELY for me…. she had her 3rd baby while I was visiting Chicago last week!  Everything with us always seems to come full circle.  It was a mad rush to find time to take pictures since I had my twins with me and she got released from the hospital the day before we flew home… but we made it work.  So… meet Mr Dillon– 2 days old– and his older brother, Peyton, and older sister, Anabela.  Beautiful kids.  Beautiful family.  Miss you all.

A fun zoo outing…

This family bought a gift certificate for a session with me at an auction held by my sister’s amazing organization (http://www.aasthafoundationforkids.org/).   We rescheduled once due to rain— then on the 2nd date it POURED down rain ALL morning– but the sun came out, and it was gorgeous.  The two boys were troopers as we dragged them all over the zoo– and they couldn’t even really enjoy the animals until after we were done.  The lollipops… oh… the lollipops… I brought my regular gigantic, bright colored lollis with me to Chicago.  Unfortunately, most of them broke in my suitcase on the trip there.  I found these at a local boutique right before their session– and they were a big hit!  I love how the blue stands out on their faces!  :)  I hope their Mama does too!

Two beautiful boys– and two sets of gorgeous eyes!!  Thanks for supporting the Aastha Foundation!!

Happy Father’s Day!!!

First, to my husband— who is the best father ever to Ryan & Ella.  Second, to my own Dad (i.e Papa)… “I love you a lot more bigger than the whole wide world” (what I used to say when I was little)… and to my father-in-law (i.e. Abuelo) who’s birthday is also the day after Father’s Day.  All of you are such great examples for Ryan… and also for Ella to see what dads/husbands/men are supposed to be like.  Thank you.

And… to everyone out there– Happy Father’s Day to you too.

Here are a few recent pics of the dads in our lives!

3 Year Old Twins…

I met these twins in Chicago on another drizzly and yucky day… but they were as happy as can be.  They are about a week different in age from my twins, so I could relate a lot to everything about them.  They were so cute and sweet.  Their house is right by a big park, so we took pictures on their steps and then walked on over.

Sorry this post is later than I promised…. it’s been a crazy week (especially with no air-conditioning working at our house– and yes, it is close to 100 every day!)  I hope the father of these twins has a great Father’s Day tomorrow and loves all of these pictures!

My own super-model…

If any of you have seen my business cards, little Miss Ruby is the model on them.  I took her pictures over a year ago— and since then she has become a big sister.  I was so excited to have a mini-session with them in one of my favorite parks.  It wasn’t ideal weather (as usual this spring), but nobody seemed to notice the light misting or the wind— especially Ruby & Frances.  How adorable are these girls?

Chicago Cutie-pies…

These two beauties are my nieces.  Not biologically related, but almost as dear to me as my own children.  Part of our trip to Chicago included staying with them… They are 5 1/2 year old twins (yes, my best friend also has twins)– and the most beautiful girls.  They are so sweet to my kids and they put up with my camera in their face for a whole week.  Here is just a glimpse of what I captured… I can’t wait to show their Mama them all (although, with how busy I am… not sure that will be anytime soon!)

ENJOY:

chicago-1-5Their Mama is SUPER hip…. and dresses them like the urban-goddesses that they are… so this picture is just perfect to me:
