Happy Valentine’s Day!!

You didn’t think I could go without making a Valentine’s Day card out of my two sweethearts, did you?   Here they are… love them to pieces!

Happy Birthday to my mom today!!!!  Her mom tried to hold out until the 14th, but she just couldn’t wait!  Love you, Mom!

Snow in Texas!!

This isn’t the first snowfall this year for us– but it is the first time we’ve been able to take advantage of it!!   With not one thing planned for today (which is SUPER rare), we have already been out in it three times– made two snowmen (1st one was knocked down by some middle school boys after we went inside– I could only see their backs!), made a fort, went sledding, made snow angels and had a snow ball fight!  Phew… They are begging to go back out, but I am making them “rest” and dethaw for an hour… so here are a few of my favorite shots from today!

(yes… she has socks on her hands… so did I– no gloves in Texas, right?)

Valentine’s Backdrop…

Lots of people who are coming to the mini sessions this coming week have asked what the backdrops look like… and this is one of the new ones.  Just a quick shot of Miss E– who quickly asked where her lollipop was.  Nope!  Not until the official Valentine’s Day shoot!  :)

Valentine’s Day Sessions….

I did a few of these last year– and had such great results, I decided to do a few mini-mini sessions (15 minutes) this year.  This is really if you are looking for just a few good shots to give as V-day presents to your spouse, parents, inlaws, etc… Such a cute idea.

The contest is the post BELOW!!!!!  If you have problems voting, please just leave a comment (which is how I did it last year– and thought I’d be high-tech and actually have a voting thing on my blog… but it is just causing headaches!)

ANYWAY…. As you probably figured out, we went to Mexico just after Christmas for a week.  My mom is ALWAYS wanting a family photo– and there is just nobody ever around to use my fancy camera and take one of all eight of us.  I told her I’d figure it out on vacation… so we got all dressed up for New Year’s Eve– went to the beach, got all set up… I took some shots to make sure all the settings were correct– and then we found some innocent beach-walker to try to take the same shot I was taking (but with me in it).  The look on his face when I handed him my monster camera was pretty funny.  Anyway… out of the 10-15 he took, we got one we were pretty happy with!   My dad (who is an awesome photographer himself) took the family shot of myself, husband and kids… and I took the rest. :)

We LOVE how it turned out (it’s even better in person!)  ENJOY and Happy 2010!!:

Back from vacation…

And so excited about 2010!  Thank you to all of my 2009 clients who made last year such a blast– and for trusting me to take images of your family that you will hopefully treasure forever.

We spent over a week in Mexico– and I am in love with SO many of the images we brought home with us (my dad took some amazing pictures of our family– how rare to have the photographer in the photo!)– so I will share some of those over the next week… but I just found this one of my sister with my two babies and had to share.  How gorgeous are all three of them?  (yes.. we all had coordinating outfits for our New Year’s photo session– which included having waiters and other tourists take pictures of all 8 of us together– can you say heaving editing!?!?)  Ha!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….

Yikes!!  I guess I better go shopping!  Luckily, I have not because this little guy has changed his santa request about 5 times.  We started off with a train (easy enough), then went to football helmet and pads (my worst nightmare– football freaks me out), then we moved on to yellow cake (which is the only thing they asked santa for last year), then to an ELF costume (what?)… and finally today we landed on TOW-TRUCK.  I think I can handle that… and he might get one or two more things too since he’s been a very good boy!  :)

PS… I am officially on vacation.  I’ll be returning emails/calls, but probably not immediately!  Thanks for an awesome 2009!!!!  Look for the “Best of 2009″ contest sometime after the 1st of the year.  Those who won last year were very happy!  :)

Here is one of my little guy waiting to see Santa at the mall!  ENJOY:

One that didn’t make my card….

…but now I’m thinking it should have!  :)

I’ll post my own card in a few days (after I mail them all– ha!)

Another template…

Since SO many people emailed me telling me they wanted the template with three pictures on the front (see post below with cards), I thought I better find another one!  This one is in 5X5 format– can be flat or folded with additional pictures on the inside or back.  I used some pictures of my kids… and I think it looks great (and no… this will NOT be my final card!)  :)  The redish pink color can be changed– as well as the wording!  So cute.

What a colorful Halloween!!

Just had to put one of the family (including my parents) from tonight.  We set up the tripod and took this shot before we headed out for a big neighborhood bash and then some trick-or-treating.  My kids won the costume contest for their age group!  :)  So… I guess all the work was worth it!?
