These three just turned five… and we had a lot of fun.  It’s getting HOT in Texas already– so we cranked this session out as fast as we could.  They showed up in their amazing clothing they wore during a ceremony in India a few months ago– all three of them had their head shaved there and it is just starting to grow back.  They look adorable.  Then we switched into some clothes where they could run and jump– and they seemed more relaxed.   All three were so sweet… and ready for the gum their mommy promised them at the end!

I hope everyone reading has a wonderful long weekend!

And… now we have Miss Sadie and her super-talented, artistic, awesome, gorgeous parents (Elisa & Nathan)… Elisa and I also went to college together (you may remember her maternity pictures here)— and if there is one person in this world that can make me laugh it is she.  I love this girl– and was dying to meet her daughter.  I tried to get up there in the winter to take some newborn pictures (even had a ticket), but exhaustion and illness got in my way.  So– this time we made sure it worked out!… and we got some beautiful shots in the process!  We met in Central Park…. it was hot!  Especially for May– but we cranked out the session in no time (and off went Nathan and Sadie back to Brooklyn to leave us child-free in the city for a few days!… thanks to the men/grandparents/babysitters who made this amazing weekend possible!)…

I know there were some other people who wanted sessions and I didn’t get to them– but I am hoping to come back in the fall and at least have another mini-session!  Keep a look out– I tried to focus less on work and more on play this go-around!  :)

Ok… enough talk… here are the pictures!

These two beauties live in NYC… and seem to love every second of it!  They live right across the street from Central Park, so they can take their cute puppy (Willy) for walks— and we could do some of their session there and then (after an outfit change and some lunch) we did some more on the streets!  Their mom, Melanie, is a great friend of mine from Vanderbilt.  Although, she was reluctant to be in any pictures, I twisted her arm and I’m hoping she will love what I got!  :)  Moms are TOO hard on themselves– she is gorgeous, inside and out– and such an awesome friend (and tour guide!)… Her girls are not to0 shabby either!

ENJOY:

I love this first one of them with their adorable puppy… and I’m putting it here in B&W too because I know their Mom will love it!

This BEAUTIFUL family lives in NYC, but they are French.   They moved here about 9 years ago… right after they married and before they had kids.  Now they have three.  Three fantastic, amazing children.  And why not?  They are fantastic and amazing themselves.  Our history together:  the mom (Vanessa) was my exchange student in FIFTH grade– I went to France for three weeks alone with my class and then a few weeks after we returned, her class came to Michigan and she stayed with us.  We’ve been friends ever since– visiting at least once a year (usually summer, but sometimes not), she was a bridesmaid in my wedding, we all went to her wedding in Paris, have spent time together in Spain, Switzerland, all over France… our parents are friends and visit eachother frequently, etc, etc… it’s truly a beautiful friendship.  Their middle son (Titien) was born one day after my twins– and I had never met him (nor their youngest, Castille) until Thursday… such beautiful names too, right?  (Eva-Lee is the oldest).  Now I’ve met them all… and there will be pressure for her to travel to Dallas soon!  :)  Maybe if I take more pictures of her family like this, she’ll come.  :)  She wanted pictures that represented their life in this neighborhood… they love New York and want to remember their streets and how the kids run and play and live their life here…. I hope I captured that for them!

ENJOY (Vanessa & Vincent…Merci beaucoup pour les belles fleurs… tres gentil!!!)….

Warning… there will be a TON (probably the most I’ve ever posted… so it will take forever to download…. be patient… it is worth it!)  :)

One more before I go….

This age is a hard one… none of my “tricks” work because they don’t really care if a human sounds like a dog or a bird or jumps around… They are more interested in sucking on their hands that they just discovered… but, of course I don’t get up until I get something like this!

ENJOY:

Sweet, sweet Austin!

  • 1 Melody Prieto: Thanks Betsy for capturing such a cute moment! (25.05.10, 06:41AM)
  • 2 Christina Muchow: Haha - it is hard to get him interested in anything else besides his hands right now. Another amazing picture to add to our collection - thanks Betsy!!! (26.05.10, 06:58AM)
