Once again, I will have to say… I don’t do weddings.  BUT… when my only sister gets married, I am FOR SURE going to get some pictures. Especially in a setting like this, with a bride as beautiful as she is… and the groom isn’t so shabby himself!

She hired a photographer (can’t wait to see those pictures!)… so I was off-duty the day of the wedding (being the maid of honor and all).  We had planned on taking 30 minutes worth of  ”Betsy-esque” pictures after the ceremony and before the reception… however, the sky was overcast and it was quite windy– and I could see that the newlyweds wanted to join their family and friends for the celebration– so we made a deal.  We would wake up at sunrise and get RE-dressed and RE-made-up… and I would take 30 minutes worth of pictures then (while their guests recover from the good times had-by-all the night before).  The deal was made… and my camera went back to bed until 6:30 am when the bride woke me up to start the fun.  And FUN was what we had…. I can’t even tell you how happy this wedding made me (and my parents and everyone who knows them).  They are both the most compassionate, lovely, caring people… and together they are even better.  The wedding weekend was magical… and I hope you feel the same about these pictures.  XOXO to the new Linde family.  Love you both.

The first song that came to my mind when I was editing these pictures was “You are my Sunshine…”  The sun getting lower was so beautiful on Sunday afternoon when I took these photos.  Three gorgeous children running around in the bluebonnets.  D… I hope these bring a smile to your face.  XO

So… I’ve been a tad M.I.A. once again. Honestly, I have only been home for 7 days total since February 26th. I had a few sessions in Florida and a few back at home that I have not yet blogged… and then some beautiful pictures of my friends in New York (which I will probably blog on Tuesday with an update on them…) So, I’ll start with some photos I took yesterday at the gorgeous Arboretum and a cute little family. The Arboretum is gorgeous right now– so head out soon before the Dallas Blooms is over!

Will try to blog a few posts today and tomorrow to catch up before I leave town AGAIN …. but this time for my sister’s wedding in Arizona. Seriously CAN.NOT.WAIT for that! I just MIGHT take a few pictures while we are there… however, since I am the maid matron of honor, I had her hire someone to do most everything.  I get 20 minutes alone with them after the ceremony– so I’m coming up with a quick list of things I want to do.  Also working on my speech between photo sessions, unpacking and repacking… so I hope it is good.

Thanks for hanging in there with me when I have not been around… and for all the encouraging emails, texts, etc during this crazy (and often sad) times!  When I get back from the wedding, I have no plans to go anywhere until July.  Although, I’m sure something will come up.  I am looking forward to some great sessions– including photographing the BIRTH of one of my best friends’ baby twins.  So, so excited for that!

XOXO

Team Bond…

One of my most favorite people in the world just got diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer… and it was just over a week after her husband was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.  Yes.  You read it right.  Horrible, horrible news.   Most of us can’t imagine what they are going through…

If you follow my blog you probably remember when I photographed them last year while I was visiting in New York… a beautiful, happy, energetic couple with a sweet baby girl.  Sadie is now 18 months (remember how crazy that age is–even when you are feeling healthy!?) and Elisa & Nathan are both going through chemotherapy right now at the same time.  They have a long, long road ahead of them… but not alone.   There are so many people offering to help– with so many different things you wouldn’t even believe it.

Please, please take some time to read Elisa’s family blog… she started it to post updates about their life with Sadie… and never dreamed it would turn into something else. She is (and always has been) one of the best writers I know— her emails always make me laugh, her phone calls always make me laugh so hard I cry and somehow her blog still has a touch of humor even though they are facing something incomprehensible.

We have also set up a website and fund.  Please explore and decide if you can help.

Also, please become a fan of their page on facebook to help spread the word…. and then forward it on to all of your friends or publish on your own wall.  I’m setting up a twitter account too… for anyone on twitter.

Elisa & Nathan:  SO many prayers and happy thoughts are heading your way.   Everyone seems to want to help you.  Even people who don’t know you.  They don’t know your heart or your smile or your past… they don’t know how amazing you both are.  What amazing friends, amazing parents and amazing human beings… but we all are going to get you through this.  All of us.  Your “core” group of girls would do anything for you (as I’m sure you’ve seen the past few weeks)… and we will continue to do this for as long as it takes.  I love you.

Here are a few pics from their session… and two of our group that I just love:

The photo session was just a few hours one day… we had the rest of the weekend to just hang out and be kid-free…. New York with two locals is pretty darn fun!  Especially the slumber party in the hotel!

We’ve all known each other since we were 18… Love you all!

Hello!!!  Sorry I have been so M.I.A. lately…. took an amazing vacation to celebrate our 10th anniversary!  I will post a few pictures when I get a chance, but it was a perfect vacation with some amazing friends.

However, it is back to reality– and back to work for now!  I got to photograph these adorable newborn twins and their sweet little 3 year old brother!  The babies were perfect– barely woke and were content in most of the baskets/contraptions I brought to put them in!  I will admit that I normally have to pose babies hands… but these babies were holding hands and wrapping their arms around eachother the whole time.  It was adorable.  This is just a tiny portion of what I got of them… the rest I’ll try to post when I am caught up.

FYI… I’ll be out of town AGAIN starting Sunday– but this time we’ll be visiting my parents, so I’ll be working from my dad’s computer (identical to mine) and still returning calls/emails and setting up appointments!  Looking forward to all the spring sessions I have coming up!

ENJOY this GORGEOUS family…

  • 1 Tracy: wow betsy! love the first two. (13.03.11, 08:02PM)
  • 2 Farah: Simply stunning. Honestly, what more can be said?? Perhaps, I'll take one of each?? These are magical. I'm sure the family is thrilled with the beautiful memories you created for them. These might be my favorite ever. Ever. (15.03.11, 05:24AM)
