You all have seen my posts about my friends who were both diagnosed with Stage 3 or Stage 4 cancer in the same week…. Well, I put together a slideshow for their family blog (Family Bonding Time) and wanted to
share it here as well. Please click on that link and read some of Elisa’s amazing writing— recounting the story behind the pictures. I was so fortunate to get to spend a few days with them in New York… We made time to take some family photos with Sadie and then Elisa decided to shave her hair right before I left for the airport. Her hair started falling out the day before (the same morning the Today Show came to film them, which she is going to write about in another post)… Instead of just waiting for it to fall out, she was proactive and decided to donate it to “Locks of Love” and to embrace this part of her life like she has the rest… with dignity and grace. The only tears that were shed were on the morning that it first started to come out in the shower… she wanted it to be a positive experience for Sadie… so she put on a brave smile and some “Brickhouse” music… and Nathan and her mom helped preserve the hair for donation. She is gorgeous with hair, and in my opinion, just as gorgeous without. Thank you for asking me to document this for you… I love you all very much.
